During this appointment, the dentist will go over the patient's concerns and desires. The patient gets to provide their input as the dentist designs their veneers. The information is sent to a lab where the oral restorations are made. The patient will be fitted with temporary veneers and sent back home.
During the third appointment, the dentist will remove the temporary veneers and install the customized ones. Dental cement is used to keep the veneers permanently attached to the patient's teeth. The dentist might schedule a follow-up appointment to monitor how the patient adjusts to their veneers.
There is not much of a recovery period after getting veneers, but the patient might experience tooth sensitivity for a few days. Patients should avoid eating chewy, sticky or hard foods for the first 24 hours after getting veneers as that might lead to one becoming dislodged. Good oral hygiene is essential to get the most out of veneers.
